Why I developed t-threads
In the early days of the pandemic, I appreciated the twin benefits that Twitter brings to conversations among virologists, epidemiologists, social scientists, and health professionals. Outsiders can listen in. Because they know that outsiders are listening, specialists compete by expressing themselves more clearly.
I also saw how easy it is to disrupt these open conversations. t-threads protects them by filtering out the negative-attention-getting-behavior that Twitter rewards and the noise-injection attacks that it facilitates.
t-threads also enhances the value of threads as reference materials by offering better options for search.
